I welcome this report from the National Audit Office. It confirms that children's centres have successfully improved services for families with young children and that parents value children's centres services highly. We created Sure Start in 1998, offering for the first time integrated health, childcare and other services such as access to training and employment to young children and their parents. Since then thousands of families in disadvantaged areas have benefited, and we are accelerating this progress so that by 2010 every young child in every community will be able to access Sure Start children's centres services.
