New members wanted for National Park Authorities and Broads Authority

Environment Secretary Hilary Benn is looking to appoint new members to the following National Park authorities and the Broads Authority:

Dartmoor National Park Authority

Exmoor National Park Authority

New Forest National Park Authority

Northumberland National Park Authority

North York Moors National Park Authority

Peak District National Park Authority

Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority

Broads Authority

National Park authorities work to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage within the Parks and to help improve public understanding and enjoyment of them.

Authority members consider strategic issues such as responsibility for conservation, recreation, planning, access, land management and resources issues, as well as reflecting both local and national interests.

The appointments commence in April 2009 and are initially for four years, with the option of re-appointment for a period of up to ten years.
