Mr Edward Chaplin OBE, CMG has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Italian Republic in succession to Sir Ivor Roberts KCMG who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service. Mr Chaplin will take up his new appointment during Autumn 2006.
