HM The Queen has appointed Rupert Simon Overbury to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP. The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, has assigned him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Basildon Combined Court Centre with effect from Tuesday 13 November 2007.
