A £160 million National Traffic Control Centre giving the fullest real time picture ever of what is happening across the motorway network will help drivers to plan their journeys better, by enabling them to avoid traffic jams, make journey times faster, safer and more reliable, Transport Secretary Alistair Darling said today.
