Dounia Nadar
Dounia has been a member of the International Council of the Wallace Collection for five years and its chair for the past three years, raising funds for gallery refurbishment and other fundraising projects.
Dounia is a patron of the British museum and the National Gallery. In addition she has been involved with acquisitions strategy in one of the galleries at the British Museum. Dounia has also been active in the charity world acting as an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care and she has helped organise events for numerous causes including St James’s Conservation Trust and St Paul’s Girls’ School.
Dounia’s earlier career included cultural exchange work between the United States and Japan including working for the Japan Foundation in New York and a two year stint working in Japan.
Dounia lives in London with her husband and three daughters.
Eric Ellul
Eric Ellul is a Senior Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He advises large international clients on organisation, strategy and acquisitions in the energy, private equity and consumer products and services industries. He is also Chair of BCG’s Global Audit and Risk Committee.
Eric has had a number of leadership positions at BCG, including Global Head of the Principal Investment and Private Equity business, Head of the European Energy Practice, Managing Director of the London office, Managing Director of Eastern Europe and member of the Global Compensation Committee. He has been located in the Paris, Tokyo and Brussels offices, and is currently based in London.
He has specific interest in arts and culture and is coordinating BCG London activities in this area. Most recently Eric has provided guidance to key institutions in the UK arts sector, advising them as they aim to modernise and expand, as well as attract new audiences. He is also supporting BCG’s activities in Education.
Eric holds a general engineering degree from Ecole Centrale des Arts & Manufactures de Paris and an MBA from INSEAD. He is married to Virginie and is a father of three.
Jemima Rellie
Jemima Rellie has over 20 years experience in cross-platform content creation, promotion, management and exchange in both commercial and not-for- profit sectors. She is passionate about cultural heritage and digital technologies, and how combined they can enhance critical engagement and enrich lives.
Jemima is currently Content and Audiences Director at Royal Collection Trust. Previously she was Assistant Director for Communications and Information Resources at the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles, and was Tate’s first Head of Digital Programmes. Jemima started her career in working in art book publishing and at digital start-ups. She is a Trustee of Nominet Trust and a Foundation Governor at Christ Church School, Chelsea.
Marilyn Berk
Marilyn Berk has led an internationally renowned luxury cashmere retailing business for over 30 years. She has extensive commercial and branding experience combining contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. She has championed the preservation and promotion of the historic heritage of her flagship shop in the Burlington Arcade.
She has been committed to public and voluntary service, having worked with The Prince’s Trust to advise their retail outlet and successfully mentored many of the Trust’s young companies through the retail process, and is looking forward with great enthusiasm to joining the board at the Wallace to help and advise and hopefully inspire their retail operation.
Her other voluntary commitments include chairing educational appeal panels.
The Board of The Wallace Collection is appointed by the Prime Minister, and the appointments process follows the OCPA Code of Practice. Trustees are unpaid.
All public appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for defined political activity in the last five years to be made public. Dounia Nadar has confirmed that she has made recordable donations to the Conservative Party of £25,000 in 2014 and £10,000 in 2015. During the term of the appointment no further contributions will be made. Eric, Jemima and Marilyn have declared no such political activity.
