Mr Geoffrey Adams CMG has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran in succession to Sir Richard Dalton KCMG who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Adams will take up his appointment in March 2006.
