All 28 Strategic Health Authority (SHA) areas have been given the go-ahead from the Department of Health to begin local consultations on boundary changes in December, confirmed the Health Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, today. She reaffirmed, however, that no decisions on boundary changes would be taken until these local consultations had been completed and their outcomes considered.
