Press release: Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber: Weekly summary for Monday 3 November to Sunday 9 November

M1 junction 30 (Barlborough) to junction 31 (Aston), South Yorkshire: drainage and barrier work

The hardshoulder will be closed in both directions and there will be narrower lanes and a 50 mph speed limit over 24 hours. There will be one lane open northbound from 7 November for two nights from 8pm to 10am, during the day on the 8 November between 10am and 8pm the northbound carriageway will have two lanes open.

M1 junction 28 to 31 and 32 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: Smart Motorway

Until spring 2015 there will be various restrictions in place to allow for the construction of the Smart Motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures. Delays are expected on the M1 southbound at junctions 30 and 31 from 6am on Saturday 8 November to 10am the following day due to lane closures.

This week the following overnight lane and slip road closures will be in place from approx. 8pm to 6am:

M1 northbound J28 entry slip closed, diversion to J27 and return, 8pm to 6am, 3, 4, 6, 7 November M1 northbound J28 exit closed, diversion to J29 and return, 8pm to 6am, 4, 5, 6 November M1 southbound J28 exit slip closed, diversion to J27 and return, 8pm to 6am, 8, 9 November M1 southbound J28 entry slip closed, diversion to J29 and return, 8pm to 6am, 8, 9 November M1 southbound J32 exit slip closed, diversion down to J31 and return, 8pm to 6am, 3 November M1 northbound J32 exit slip closed, diversion to J33 and return, 8pm to 6am, 8 November M1 junction 39 (Durkar) to junction 42 (Lofthouse), West Yorkshire: smart motorway upgrade

The hardshoulder will be closed in both directions and there will be narrower lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place over 24 hours until autumn 2015.

Various other overnight slip road, lane and carriageway closures may also be in place. There will be a full carriageway closure northbound between junction 40 and junction 41 for four nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route. There will be a full carriageway closure southbound between junction 39 and junction 40 for three nights from 7 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route. There will be a full carriageway closure northbound between junction 41 and junction 42 for two nights from the 8 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route

M1 junction 41 (Carr Gate), West Yorkshire: slip road and roundabout widening

The southbound exit slip road will be closed for five nights from 3 November between 7pm and 6am, with a clearly signed diversion route. The northbound exit slip road will be closed for five nights from the 3 November between 7pm and 6am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M1 junction 36 (Tankersley) to junction 37 (Dodworth), South Yorkshire: resurfacing works

The northbound entry slip road will be closed for five nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M1 junction 37 (Dodworth) to junction 38 (Haigh), South Yorkshire: surfacing works

The southbound entry slip road will be closed for seven nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M18 junction 2 (Wadworth) to junction 3 (St Catherines), South Yorkshire: Carriageway Widening Scheme

The hardshoulder will be closed with narrow lanes and with a 50mph speed restriction northbound and southbound over 24hrs until February 2015.

M18 junction 5 (Wadworth), South Yorkshire: Roundabout Widening Scheme

The hardshoulder will be closed with various overnight closures on the roundabout with 24/7 lane closures on the northbound entry slip road and southbound exit slip road until April 2015.

M18 junction 2 (Wadworth), South Yorkshire: Patching Works

The southbound entry slip road will be closed for three nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

M62 junction 30 (Rothwell) to junction 32 (Castleford), West Yorkshire: electrical work

There will be narrow lanes with a 50mph speed restriction over 24 hours, and the hard shoulder will be closed in both directions until early 2015.

There will be a full carriageway closure eastbound between junction 31 and junction 32 overnight on 7 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route. There will be a full carriageway closure westbound between junction 32 and junction 31 for two nights from 29 October between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

M180 junction 3 (Midmoor) to M180 junction 4 (Broughton), Humberside: bridge works

There will be a full carriageway closure westbound overnight on 8 November between 8pm and 6am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M180 junction 3 (Midmoor) to M180 junction 2 (Woodhouse), Humberside: surfacing works

There will be a full carriageway closure westbound overnight on 3 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

M606 junction 1 (Chainbar) to junction 3 (Staygate), West Yorkshire, Patching

There will be a full carriageway closure northbound for three nights from 5 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

A1M junction 34 (Blyth) to junction 38 (redhouse), South Yorkshire, Roadmarkings and studs

There will be a full carriageway closure southbound for five nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

3 November closure is from junction 34 to junction 35 4 November closure is from junction 34 to junction 35 5 November closure is from junction 35 to junction 36 6 November closure is from junction 36 to junction 37 7 November closure is from junction 37 to junction 38 A64 Whitwell Duals, North Yorkshire: road markings

There will be convoy working with and a 10mph speed restriction on the eastbound carriageway for five nights from the 3 November between 8pm and 6am.

A64 Tadcaster to Bilbrough, North Yorkshire: patching works.

There will be a full carriageway closure eastbound for seven nights from 3 November between 8pm and 6am with a clearly signed diversion route.

A616 Stocksbridge Bypass, South Yorkshire: new roundabout installation

There will a 30mph speed limit in place 24 hours a day until November 2014.

Keep within the speed limit – it is there for your safety. Get into the correct lane in good time – don’t keep switching. Concentrate on the road ahead, not the roadworks.
