Take a look at what’s in store at DataConnect 26

DataConnect, the flagship conference for the Office of the Chief Data Officer, returns next month.

The event programme has now been released; you can take a look and register today.

The conference has been curated around the theme: Data for growth, for people, for places. The conference brings together UK public sector data, digital, and AI professionals to explore real-world case studies and tangible outcomes delivered through public sector data. Anyone working in a public sector organisation can attend.

Aimee Smith, Government Chief Data Officer shares how we have taken a different approach to developing this year's programme, saying:"DataConnect is about bringing the public sector data community together to learn from one another, share what works and tackle common challenges. This year's programme focuses on practical examples of how better data can help deliver growth, improve public services and create better outcomes for people and places across the UK."

The programme will explore how data can deliver better outcomes for citizens, strengthen organisational capability, unlock innovation and support more joined-up public services.

DataConnect25’s impact

Attendees described last year’s DataConnect as an event that "brought about connected thinking in a remote world" and noted that "DataConnect really connected people".

Others praised the practical nature of the sessions, highlighting the opportunity to hear from people who had delivered real-world solutions rather than simply discussing theory.

Attendees’ feedback on DataConnect25 revealed how much they valued the event:

83% of attendees saying they learned something new 70% gaining a fresh perspective on a data challenge they faced 82% saying they would attend again

These results underscore our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared freely.

This year, we aim to build on that momentum, providing even more opportunities for delegates to exchange ideas, tackle complex data challenges, and cultivate long-term partnerships that drive digital transformation across the UK public sector.

What to expect this year at DataConnect 26?

DataConnect 2026 offers two days of expert-led sessions, featuring discussions on data maturity, showcases of innovative AI prototypes from across the Civil Service, and strategic deep dives into building the UK's national data infrastructure.

Join public sector leaders to explore how we can turn data into a sustainable, strategic asset that drives growth, fosters innovation, and delivers better outcomes for citizens.

Join public sector data, digital, and AI professionals at this event to explore real-world case studies, exchange ideas, and cultivate long-term partnerships that drive digital transformation across the UK public sector.

Glyn Jones, Chief Digital Officer and Director for Analysis for the Welsh Government
“DataConnect is always a great event to hear how other parts of government are driving forward the use of data for public good, and as ever I’ll be looking forward to hearing more case studies we can learn from in our own work in Wales.”

You can take a further look at the programme and register today. We look forward to seeing you there!
