Culture minister defers export of rare and spectacular eighteenth-century court mantua

Culture Minister, David Lammy, has placed a temporary export bar on a rare and lavish court mantua and petticoat of silver-brocaded ivory silk, believed to date from the mid 1760s. This will provide a last chance to raise the money to keep the mantua and petticoat in the United Kingdom.
