Your comments are invited on the attached European Commission proposal for a Regulation setting type-approval requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, including regulations covering new tyres, and the United Kingdom Impact Assessment (IA) dealing with the proposal. The proposal also aims to reduce the regulatory burden on industry through the repeal of 50 Directives, and their amendments, on general vehicle safety and on tyre noise, and consolidating them into this one Regulation.7 January 2009
