Figures produced by the Government show today that emissions of the basket of six greenhouse gases fell by about 14 1/2 per cent between the base year and 2005. The UK has agreed to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 12.5 per cent over the 2008-2012 period to meet its Kyoto Protocol commitment.
