1. After the publication of the Budd Report, Sir Alistair Graham, Chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life gave notice [PN 165, 22 December 2004] that the Committee would reflect on the Report and discuss what lessons could be learnt from this particular inquiry and the way in which it was set up, at its meeting on January 27th 2005. The Committee had a full and useful discussion on the issues this morning and wishes to reiterate the following points:
