Guidance: Motorcycles that can be used for motorcycle riding tests

Updated: Updated the list of motorcycles that can be used for riding tests.

Your motorcycle must meet certain rules to be used for your motorcycle test.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has been given proof that the subcategory A2 and category A motorcycles listed meet the rules.

Subcategory A2 and category A motorcycles that are not listed

You can use a motorcycle that is not listed, but you must take proof to your test that it meets the rules.

Subcategory AM mopeds and A1 motorcycles

Subcategory AM mopeds and A1 motorcycles are not listed.

You can use any AM or A1 ‘learner legal’ mopeds or motorcycles, unless there’s clear evidence it does not meet the rules.
