Guidance: Hospital education: local authority baseline collection

Between 13 March 2018 and 27 April 2018 we’re collecting information from local authorities about their planned spend on hospital education in the 2018 to 2019 financial year.

We’re doing this to produce updated baselines to inform the development of a new calculation for the hospital education factor in the high needs national funding formula.

Local authorities must submit their completed collection template by 27 April 2018.

All local authorities must submit a return, even if they’ve no planned spend on hospital education.

The guidance has been designed to help local authorities complete the collection template. The template has been issued via the ESFA data collections portal. Local authorities must also submit their return via that portal.

Local authorities need to provide contact details for the officer completing the template. The chief financial officer is also required to sign off the return.

If you have any questions about the hospital education baseline collection, you should contact our high needs team.
