News story: Secretary of State appoints Trustee to the Board of The Royal Parks

Bronwyn Hill CBE

Bronwyn was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. After Cambridge University, she worked for the Greater London Council. She joined the civil service in 1988 and worked on transport strategy and policy and as PPS to the Secretary of State. Bronwyn led work on transport for the 2012 Olympics, Crossrail and the sale of the UK’s first high speed rail line.

Bronwyn was awarded the CBE for services to transport in 2001.

As Permanent Secretary at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) from 2011 to 2015, Bronwyn led significant organisational change and reform across the Defra network to support the economy and the environment, including through digital innovation.

Bronwyn is a Non Executive Director at the Office for Nuclear Regulation and a member of the Court of the University of Greenwich. A keen rower, she is Chair of Globe Rowing Club in Greenwich.

Trustees for The Royal Parks are not remunerated. This appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice. It is a requirement of the Code that political activity by those appointed is declared. Bronwyn Hill has declared that she has not carried out any political activity.
