Notice: Funding competition: antimicrobial resistance

Open to any UK organisation, Innovate UK are delivering a competition on behalf of the Department of Health to invest up to £4 million to support the UK’s capability to conduct research into antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The aim will be to develop new products and services that will reduce the impact of drug resistant pathogens, slow down the emergence of new ones, and produce new products and services including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics.

Focusing on antibacterial resistance, the competition aims to:

strengthen research and innovation excellence across the UK maximise private sector engagement and leverage funding capitalise on existing UK expertise in AMR research and innovation support and use capability in different regions

Successful applicants must spend and claim their grant by 31 March 2017.

We expect projects to range in size from total costs of £200,000 to £2 million (see funding section).

The competition project is open to any UK organisation working on its own or in a consortium.

The competition opens on 14 September 2016.

You must register before noon on 27 October 2016.

You must apply before noon on 2 November 2016.
