Press release: Planned roadworks in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, BANES, Wiltshire, West Dorset and Devon: weekly summary for Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2016

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of the above date but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

Bristol M32 junction 1 to junction 2: MetroBus scheme (Bristol City Council work)

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restrictions will be in operation northbound and southbound until the end of November.

M5 junction 18/18A: bridge inspection

Northbound carriageway between junction 18 exit slip road and junction 18A entry slip road will be closed overnight from 9pm on 26 September until 6am on 27 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 19: lighting inspection

Northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm on 27 September until 6am on 28 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 18/18A: bridge inspection

Southbound carriageway between junction 18A exit slip road and junction 18 entry slip road will be closed overnight from 9pm on 27 September until 6am on 28 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 18: loop replacement

Southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight from 9pm on 28 September until 6am on 29 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 16: lighting inspection

Southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm on 29 September until 6am on 30 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Gloucestershire M5 junction 14 to junction 12: bridge maintenance

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restrictions will be in place on the southbound and northbound carriageway until June 2017.

M5 junction 10 to junction 11A: structures

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restrictions will be in operation northbound and southbound until mid-November.

M48 Severn Bridge: surfacing

Eastbound carriageway, including junction 2 entry slip road, will be closed overnight from 8pm on 28 September until 6am on 29 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M48 Severn Bridge: cable inspection

Westbound and eastbound carriageway will be closed from 6am on 1 October until 10pm on 2 October. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

A40 Elmbridge Court roundabout: construction work

Lane closure will be in place on Elmbridge Court roundabout until February 2018.

Wiltshire A36 Cley Hill to Crockerton: drainage

Southbound lane closure will be in place between Cley Hill and Crockerton until 28 October.

North Somerset M5 junction 19: lighting inspection

Southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm on 26 September until 6am on 27 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 19: survey

Northbound exit slip road and entry slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm on 29 September until 6am on 30 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 21: white lining

Northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm on 29 September until 6am on 30 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 20: white lining

Northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm on 30 September until 6am on 1 October. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Somerset A303 South Petherton to Southfields: bridge work

Eastbound lane closure, with overnight traffic lights, will be in place nightly, 9pm to 6am, Monday to Saturday only, until 7 October.

A303 South Petherton to Southfields: bridge work

Eastbound and westbound carriageways will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from 28 September until 30 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

A303 Ilchester Meads to Podimore: white lining

Eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 9pm on 26 September until 6am on 27 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

A303 Podimore to Ilchester Meads: white lining

Westbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 27 September until 29 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

South Gloucestershire M5 Junction 14 to Junction 15: Smart Motorway maintenance

Southbound carriageway, including junction 14 entry slip road, will be closed overnight from 9pm on 26 September until 6am on 27 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 14 to junction 15: Western Power work

Northbound and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight from 10pm on 30 September until 6am on 1 October. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Devon M5 junction 30 to junction 29: drainage

Northbound carriageway, including junction 30 entry slip road and junction 29 exit slip road, will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from 26 September until 29 September. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Northbound entry slip road will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from 29 September until 1 October. Diversion will be clearly signposted
