National Statistics: NEET statistics quarterly brief: April to June 2016

The data comes from:

the Department for Education’s 16 to 18 participation statistical first release (SFR) the labour force survey (LFS) regional NEET figures

The publication includes extra tables with NEET estimates from the LFS:

by region and gender for 16- to 24-year-olds, 18- to 24-year-olds and 19- to 24-year-olds for all age groups, nationally by age, gender and labour market status

Labour market status refers to people who are one of the following:

employed unemployed inactive (people who have either not looked for work in the last 4 weeks, or are not available to start work in the next 2 weeks) Post-16 statistics team
