Guidance: Intellectual Property Office: how to pay us

Updated: Exchange rate £1= 1.4014 Swiss Francs as of 1 May 2016.

All Intellectual Property Office fee bearing forms should be accompanied with a supporting fee sheet.

The following information also applies to any payments relating to the Company Names Tribunal.

Credit or debit card

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Maestro. Please note that we will not accept card payments for:

international patent fees (other than the transmittal fee) payable under the Patent Cooperation Treaty international trade mark fees (other than the handling charge) payable under the Madrid Protocol Deposit account

If you regularly do business with us, you can pay by deposit account. This is particularly useful if you have to meet any last-minute payment deadlines.

Exchange rate for Madrid Protocol application fees

The exchange rate for Madrid Protocol applications we receive from 1 May 2016 will be £1 = 1.4014 Swiss Francs.

Cheque

Make your cheque payable to ‘Intellectual Property Office’. Payments from overseas must be in sterling drawn on a United Kingdom clearing bank.
