Policy paper: Draft code of practice for examining officers and review officers under Schedule 7 to the Terrorism Act 2000

The Counter-Terrorism and Security (CTS) Act received Royal Assent on 12 February 2015. The CTS Act amended Schedule 7 to clarify the legal position in relation to the examination of goods in remote storage outside the immediate boundary of a port, and the examination of goods comprising items of post.

Examining officers who exercise Schedule 7 powers do so in accordance with the code of practice. Therefore, the existing code of practice was amended to reflect the clarifications made to Schedule 7 under the CTS Act.
