Policy paper: AHWBE recommendation to conduct a limited study into compensation for Bovine TB

The AHWBE recommends that Defra conducts a short study of TB compensation arrangements to consider:

how compensation could be refined so that payments for some categories more closely reflect market values more effective ways to encourage and reward good practices

The Defra study team will report back to TBEAG and then AHWBE.

Through this study Defra will consider:

whether compensation arrangements could be adapted to more effectively reward those who have taken steps to reduce their TB risks identifying possible system anomalies that government or industry could look to address
