Correspondence: Support in Universal Credit: distressed children: SSAC correspondence

The Social Security Advisory Committee’s letter explains its views on certain draft Universal Credit regulations. The regulations set out a number of additional easements from work-search conditionality for cases where:

a child has been exposed to circumstances that have caused distress there is a clear need for the responsible carer to provide sustained support and attention

The Minister for Welfare Reform has provided the government’s response to the committee’s observations.
