Policy paper: Immigration Rules part 9: grounds for refusal

Updated: New version published for use on or after 20 October 2014.

This covers general grounds for refusing entry clearance, including:

refusing leave to enter for someone that has an entry clearance refusing leave to remain, a variation of leave to remain or to enter, or limiting leave curtailing leave to enter or remain information for crew members Transitional arrangements for Part 9

This is a policy statement and does not form part of the consolidated Immigration Rules.

Paragraph 323(ia) of the rules will only apply to people who have made an application type which means that they are subject to the appeals, administrative review and single decision provisions brought in under the Immigration Act 2014.
