On Wed 23 Jul, at the Paderborn Equestrian Centre, virtually the entire Battalion of 1PWRR took part in a Steeple Chase, the 4th of the 13 challenges that make up the Salerno Trophy Competition in which the 5 Companies go head-to-head for a chance to be the winner. The Steeple Chase is a test of fitness, with a 2.5mile course that includes obstacles to jump and streams to cross, whilst running in boots. The blazing summer heat added to this already arduous task but points were at stake and therefore everyone had to push hard and finish fast - hopefully completing the challenge in the top 30 of their Company. As every point mattered, once the end was in their sight most of the participants pushed themselves for that sprint finish.
