Crime and Justice Statistics

PoliceThis section gives information on how to access statistics relating to Crime and Justice. Within the Justice Analytical Services Division, statistical teams work within four policy-focused, multi-disciplinary analytical teams which include social researchers, economists and performance analysts. The teams provide statistical information and support relating to police and community safety, court affairs and offenders, prisons and matters relating to civil and international law.

Fires in Scotland

In 2011-12, the total number of fires in Scotland was 32,204, which was 17 % lower than in 2010-11 (38,970), of these 39 % where primary fires (12,400), 58 % were secondary fires (18,610) and 4 % were chimney fires (1,194).
